It's in your best and MondayCall's best interests to keep the project on-time and within budget. Our projects are time and materials (T&M) and are estimated with a “Not to Exceed without approval” (T&M NTE).
T&M NTE means
T&M NTE create a true partnership between Consultant and Customer, creating a shared responsibility and incentive to keep on budget.
Consultants want to work efficiently and deliver value quickly in the allotted hours but need Customers to keep focused, eliminate scope creep, make decisions efficiently and work to simplify things to deliver on budget.
Projects require discipline to stay on target and Customers must resist the temptation to add more than what was scoped. Even something as “simple” as “modifying a field” has repercussions...
A 5 minute change can result in hours of analysis, testing and debugging to make sure the change doesn’t create problems.
Estimates are made with assumptions in mind. When these assumptions change, budgets can be affected. For example, Salesforce itself can have unexpected bugs. Existing code in your instance may not have proper test coverage and cause Salesforce to halt all deployments until test cases are written for old code. Our estimates cover the day-to-day unexpected issues but there is a limit.
Although we have agreed on a specific budget and deliverable, we always recommend that you allocate some ADDITIONAL buffer in your budget to make sure you can fit in that new feature you didn't expect but now must have or to address the unexpected bug that requires a workaround that involves debugging and extra code.
While the SOW describes very specifically what is to be delivered, requirements can change during the project. Customer often learn many new things during the project process and may wish to take advantage of a new capability that wasn't estimated prior.
Changes from the plan are disruptive in nature but we do have a change order process that is simple to execute. If any assumption or deliverable changes, it can be estimated for the customer to prioritize and approve.
We execute change orders formally through a follow on Exhibit to ensure that everyone is aligned.
